Dogs make up a large part of my practice, however I’ve noticed a growing number of clients now seeking support for their cats, which I welcome with open arms. I also find a great joy in treating marsupials and native fauna.
My journey into animals care started with people. I originally trained as a Kinesiologist, using Acupressure, Flower Essences and Nutrition to support my patients. Over time, my focus naturally expanded to include horses, dogs and cats, especially as my own animal family began to grow. In many ways, my greatest teachers have always been my own animals.
One of the most pivotal moments in my path came when my beloved Kelpie x Huntaway suddenly became paralysed with a rare neurological spinal disorder. Desperate to help him, I began applying Bowen techniques from a book I had on hand. Gently working along his spine and neck brought remarkable improvement, and over a period of time, he was back to playing, walking, running and even coming along for some trail rides with the horses. That profound experience led me to formally train in Small Animal Bowen Therapy, and my boy went on to live a full and happy life.
Over the years, I’ve also witnessed the powerful impact of a natural diet and herbal medicine in supporting animal health. Awareness of holistic and integrative approaches to veterinary care has grown, and this resurgence in herbal practices reflects a broader shift toward more natural, sustainable and personalised methods of caring for animal companions. This passion led me to complete a Diploma of Canine Natural Health & Medicine, and I’m now a Registered Canine Naturopath and Herbalist.
